UL Podcast 005

This is the Frank and Regis Cast--Greg is conspicuously missing. We tried to call him but he refused to answer his phone in the north woods. Therefore we couln't have too much fun at his expense. Oh well. Lots of links this week, no need to patronize them because we're not getting paid to mention them!

  • I wasn't the 3rd voter in your poll. I haven't voted yet because I'm not sure which one applies as I've only just begun at karaoke.

  • I think perhaps Brad was the third voter - he was posting on the Melvis forums last night - I meant to ask him tonight, but I forgot. And I think I tried to vote, but was rejected.

  • Hey Regis...

Heard you were branching out on your podcasting experience to bkwrm and offering your services for a small monetary fee? If her show becomes a great success, will you be dropping Frankie and Greg like a yesterday's news???? Just asking....I love this Sh*t

  • The difference between CD resell shops and "sharing" music online is that the original seller of the CD no longer has the CD. It's a transfer of ownership. With online music "sharing" a copy is made and the original owner keeps their music.

A correct analogy would be if those CD resell shops were making mass copies and selling those.

It's important to take scale into account here. There's a difference between making a mix tape for a single or several friends and allowing hundreds of people you don't know to download perfect copies (that don't degrade as copying tapes will).
