The Unemployment Line Podcast

This is the end of "The Unemployment Line", a podcast by three somewhat unemployed individuals from the Northwest Chicago Suburbs.

Unemployment Line podcast
3/8/2005 - 11/16/2006

---------------------------------------
Fun facts for all you little leaguers out there:

90 full episodes
+1 drunk dial edition (075)
+1 Ceasar Amadeus edition (091)

8 episodes were Meatball editions (35, 38, 44-perfect score, 49, 56, 58, 68, 88).

UL 006 ran long so we split the show into two halves 006a and 006b, thus there is no official UL 007. James Bond gets no love.

We featured guests live in studio four times, including Shawn, David, BJ, and Joz.

Regis had infestations of squirrels, skunks, and a raccoon at different times during the show's production run.

Jennifer the Girl on Tech, and the Darn PC podcast donated web space when our server ran slow. There are 5 shows still hosted at Darnpc.com.

The UL was featured in local papers 2 times (the Elgin Courier and The Daily Herald), and our promos were graciously played by Adam Curry on his Daily Source Code.

We discussed the Sears Stadium in show 27, which recently opened in October, 2006.

We had one brilliant episode, originally show 28, that was lost forever due to a computer crash.

Greg and Regis met Frankie around Thanksgiving, and we always celebrate the anniversary by keeping it classy. Check show 060 for proof. The production run ended 1 week prior to our 5th anniversary.

The UL saw two Frankie V. administrations at the Tropicana Swim Club.

The paypal account received over $600.00 US in generous donations.

Thank you all who listen regularly for a great run. We really did have fun recording these for our own entertainment--having you along for the ride was a bonus beyond what we could have imagined. My sincerest apologies for leaving you hanging. It was not intentional that we would drop off the internet without letting you know about it...life kinda got in the way.

Please enjoy the final episide, the actual end of the Unemployment Line. The series finale includes a new hope for Greg, the usual ranting and newspaper reading from Frankie V., Regis cleaning out the drunk dial voicemail, and of course, a Melvis update .

Rest assured that this is not the end of our podcasting career, just the final punctuation on the first chapter of our run producing content on the internet. We've learned a lot and had a great time doing it. We will be producing new show(s) in 2007, and we would love to have you be a part of it. I'll be on the forum and will continue checking the email if you need to get in touch with us. Keep your eyes and ears open, and thanks again for your loyal listenership.

Regis, Frankie, and Greg
